Foreword

Associate Professor Dr. Wan Fatma Zuharah Wan Musthapa

President (2021 – 2022)

Dear distinguished ENTOMA members and future members,

I’m very honoured to be selected as the President of ENTOMA 2021-2022, and thank you for the trust and support you have given. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to represent our incredible organization. It is privileged to serve ENTOMA.

ENTOMA has been established in 1994 and one of the oldest registered organizations. With a strength of various members’ backgrounds in entomology from different organizations, we ENTOMA members must work together to achieve our vision and mission. Throughout the years, our vision has always been to establish ENTOMA as a central hub of sharing and exchanging knowledge to develop and advance education and research in Malaysia and abroad. Our mission is to promote entomological expertise to the public through close collaboration with local and international entomologists, universities, government agencies, schools, related private sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). One of ENTOMA’s central role is to disseminate, by all appropriate means, accurate knowledge and information to the general public.

I will strive in every way to be worthy and to fulfil my duties to the best I can. I’m sure that our selected committee will put together in hand to realize our mission and vision. Our aims during these two years term are to promote and to increase the visibility of ENTOMA. With the elected committee member of ENTOMA, I firmly believe that our aims can be achieved. Rome was not built in a day, but slowly and surely, ENTOMA will be the apple of the eyes among entomologists. We have lined up a few activities, including ENTOMA bulletin and inaugural lecturer. Moreover, the biggest biannual symposium of the International Symposium of Insects (ISoI) will be held in 2022.

Finally, I welcome all people that interested in insects to join our ENTOMA organization.  I also embrace any collaboration from the agencies and industries.

“If everyone moving forward together, then success takes care of itself”– Henry Ford-

Thank you.
